The Crown Tavern Charity Walk

Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group is kindly supported by The Crown Tavern Charity Walk and it is our main spring social event.

The Walk:

It is a sponsored walk that takes place in May every year in aid of local userled disabled and disadvantage childrens charities.  Dont worry, you can do the "walk" in your wheelchair and/or partake in a relay.

It starts at Hawsker village hall (for the long walk) or The Hayburn Wyke Inn (for the short walk) – and finishes at The Crown Tavern, Scarborough.

Walkers are offered free of charge transport from the Crown Tavern, Scarborough, which picks up at 8.45am or 10.30am ready for registration at Hawsker between 9.00 and 9.20 am and at Hayburn between 10.45 and 11.15 am.

All walkers hand in their Sponsor sheets during registration (which is later collected at the finish). During the walk there are eight checkpoints inclduing the start and finish.

Orange Squash and water is available at check points and refreshment points, you’ll also find bowls of water for dogs.

At the Crown Taven there are ussualy hotdogs, live music and other fundraising activities.

How do I get involved?  - Walker? Volunteer? Business Sponsor?
