Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB)
Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group is part of Special Olympics North Yorkshire and offers members with an intellectual disability* the opportunity to continue their development through Special Olympics GB.
What is SOGB: It is the country’s largest provider of year-round sports training and competition programmes for children and adults with intellectual (learning) disabilities in Great Britain (GB). SOGB wants every child and adult with an intellectual disability in GB to have the opportunity to take part in quality sports training and competition if they desire, to improve their lives and in turn, the lives of everyone they touch.
SDSG currently has a team of six Special Olympic Athletes who travel the region to compete in competitions and events.
Further Information: Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to speak to our External Events Co-coordinator Nicky or one of the coaches during our swim sessions. Alternatively, please call SDSG on (01723) 363600 or visit “specialolympicsgb.org.uk”.
