CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS POLICY

MEMBERSHIP

Membership fees are due upon joining and in January of each year. 

Only paid up and approved members can attend SDSG activities. 

BOOKABLE ACTIVITIES

Your membership may entitle you to book activities (separate entry fees may apply). If you are unable to attend such bookings you must cancel as soon as possible. 

Whilst the majority of our members, when unable to attend a class/event/activity/session they have booked, cancel their activites in good time to allow others to book on, others just do not show up and prevent other members accessing the activity. In order to maximise spaces for our members we will impose a £4 “no-show” charge for those that either fail to show up or cancel within 4 hours of the class/activity/event start time.

CANCELLATION BY SDSG

  1. SDSG reserve the right to refuse, cancel or change any booking or event at any time prior to its commencement and to refuse admission to the event or centre, or to reject an application of membership and to withdraw membership.

  2. We can add to, change, withdraw or cancel facilities or activities from the centre without notice. This includes closing a centre or making changes to opening hours for safety reasons, maintenance or special events.

  3. In the case of cancellation for your booking, SDSG will refund you the full price. SDSG shall not be responsible for any extra costs incurred as a result of a cancelled or rescheduled event.

  4. There is no entitlement to a refund where SDSG is forced to cancel part or all of an event/session/activity due to reasons beyond our reasonable control. However, refunds may be given at SDSG’s discretion.

CANCELLATION BY THE  MEMBER

  1. Activity bookings are non-refundable. Alternative times may be offered at SDSG’s discretion.

REFUNDS

  1. No refund of membership fees will be made if a facility, a session or an activity is withdrawn from SDSG's programme.

  2. SDSG will not be liable for any other expenditure incurred or loss sustained by the member arising from the cancellation.

  3. Applications for refunds must be made in writing to The Board of Trustees stating the details of refund requested and with proof of purchase where appropriate.

  4. No part session refunds/credits are available.

  5. A credit note will be given on any payment up to the value of £10.00. A refund or credit note will be given on any payment over £10.00.

  6. Should you wish to return any retail product, on proof of purchase, we will exchange the item or provide a full refund, provided the item is unwashed, unworn and unused. This will be valid for 28 days from the date of purchase. If any retail product is found to be faulty, on proof of purchase we will exchange the item or provide a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights. 

  7. Where you apply for a new SDSG Membership via online application or by telephone you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days of the date of application and receive a refund of membership fees paid (less a 15% administration fee); provided that  you have not used your membership or attended a SDSG swim session/activity within that period.  Please note no refunds will be given for memberships bought in person, eg at Scarborough Sports Village. To request a refund please notify Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group by telephone, letter or email within 14 days of making payment. No refunds will be issued after this time and membership is non-transferable.
